It is important that Wales has an appropriately qualified workforce to sustain future innovation and development in our manufacturing industries. The purpose of TAW are synonymous with the vision expressed in the Welsh Assembly Government's Economic Development Plan 'A Winning Wales'.
TAW works with others to:
- Co-ordinate initiaitives for the development of technology education in Wales.
- Enable industry and education to have a close dialogue to ensure learners have educational experiences that are of value to industry.
- look at the future developments and plan for training to ensure that the learning providers of Wales are at the leading edge of technology training.
- Encourage, celebrate and disseminate good practise across Wales.
- Advise those wishing to provide funding, resources and other support, on the most effective way to do this to maximise impact.
- Act as a conduit to improve transistion across all phases of education to encourage the take-up of engineering, manufacturing and design in further and higher education.
- Encouage and support the take-up of technology-based careers to help provide sufficent numbers for a qualified workforce to sustain technologically related industry.
